Waves of the Ocean You’re So Totally Awesome

Mar 4, 2022 | Creative

Happy Friday! Today I want to share some projects I created using the NEW Waves of the Ocean collection. It you haven’t had a chance to check it out, you should! The hand poured paint imagery on the DSP is amazing. This is an early release from the Annual Catalog coming out in May. However, only the stamp set and the dies will be in the catalog. All other items in this collection are while supplies last.

My first card uses one of my favorite Stampin’ Up colors: Coastal Cabana. It is a standard A2 top fold card (8.5 x 11, scored at 4.25). The DSP is about 1/8″ smaller to allow for a small border. I have used a different DSP pattern cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies to back my Coastal Cabana tag with a gold heat embossed sentiment. The tag is tied with a piece of White Frayed Ribbon and Linen Thread. I have sprinkled a few Rhinestones Waves Basic Jewels around the card and added a scrap of DSP to the inside.

My second project is the same standard A2 top fold card. I have used the Scalloped Contour dies to cut a scalloped rectangle from Petal Pink card stock and popped it up on Dimensionals. Next I used piece of the Waves of the Ocean DSP (cut to fit) and adhered it to the top of my Petal Pink rectangle. To keep the color palette on the bright side, I stamped a sentiment in Night of Navy on a scrap of Daffodil Delight card stock and trimmed the end at an angle. Next I stamped and cut the clouds, added some Wink of Stella, adhered them and scattered a few Genial Gems around the card.

My last card is probably my favorite because I live the deep blue of the DSP. Here we have the same A2 top fold card and I have cut the3 DSP to allow for a bit of the Thick Basic White card stock to show at the top and a bit more to show at the bottom to allow room for a Coastal Cabana strip cut with the Basic Border dies. I heat embossed a wave in white on the DSP and then layered waves die cut from the Blue Foils paper on top. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy on Petal Pink card stock. To keep with the shimmer, I used silver Simply Elegant Trim to tie a small bow and scattered around some of the Rhinestone Ocean Basic Rhinestones.

Don’t forget about Savings in Bloom! The Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine is 20% off through the end of this month. The dies from this collection do fit through the machine. And make sure to check out the die sets that are also on sale at 20% for the rest of March.

I have linked all the supplies below for your convenience.

Thanks for stopping by!
